The purpose of this course is to enhance law enforcement officers’ ability to achieve consistent success during pretextual encounters involving suspected premeditated highway felonies, expand officers’ understanding of human behavior, psychology, sociology, and biology as they relate to criminal activity, strengthen interpersonal and communication skills in low-information situations, enable officers to effectively elicit information from both offenders and victims of highway crimes, and foster greater social awareness and perception so officers can better recognize, interpret, and navigate complex or potentially unlawful situations.
