STUDENTS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
Student Performance Objectives:
- 300 rounds of handgun practice ammo
- Duty belt with 3 magazines
- Eye & ear protection
Student Performance Objectives:
- Throughout the course students will demonstrate the ability to utilize sound use of force decision making skills to properly identify and effectively engage targets on a live fire range.
- Throughout the course students will demonstrate acceptable firearms safety and adhere to all range safety protocols as set forth at the beginning of the class.
- Review and discuss agency policy and ILCS 720 ILCS 5/7-5 (Peace Officer’s Use of Force in Making Arrest)
- Review and discuss relevant 4th Amendment cases:
- Demonstrate and explain the 5 point scan and the importance of accurate and thorough documentation surrounding the UOF.
- Demonstrate effective combat handgun reloads while stationary and mobile.
