The BAT license is good for 3 years. Re-certification is a 30-minute on-line course through your OneNet account.

All students MUST bring a device that can connect to the internet. This can be an iPhone/Android, iPad, and/or Laptop (fully charged).

Any officer who registers to attend this course must have an OneNet account established.  This is the method that ISP issues the BA Operators License after successful completion of the course.  If you do not have an OneNet account or need recertification contact Tara Walters, IL. State Police Academy at (217) 786-6925 or email isp.bao.training@illinois.gov.

The Breath Alcohol Testing Course trains police officers in the operation of evidential breath test instruments. The program presents information on the effects of alcohol on the human body, operational procedures, Vehicle and Traffic Law pertaining to DWI enforcement, and pertinent case law. Successful students will receive a Breath Alcohol Testing permit which will expire three years from the date issued.
