This 24-hour course will present material on handcuffing techniques, search of persons, and defensive tactics.

Outline
  1. Identify proper procedure to handcuff suspects or prisoners.
  2. Name two purposes for a search.
  3. Identify four major categories of contraband.
  4. Define contraband.
  5. Perform body search.
  6. Identify the procedure for a strip search.
  7. Identify types of people to be searched and the types of searches.
  8. Define body search.
  9. Identify the procedure for disposal of contraband.
  10. Identify the importance of foot placement regarding balance, stances, and movement.
  11. Identify the circumstances in which the delivery of empty-hand strikes would likely be considered reasonable.
  12. Identify specific target areas for the effective and reasonable delivery of strikes.
  13. Recognize the importance of effectively reacting to suspect attacks.
  14. Recognize the importance of effectively reacting to suspect attacks.
  15. Demonstrate proficiency in techniques presented.
