This training will provide an in-depth look at active shooter incidents. Students will become familiar with the proper response to an active shooter, different search techniques, and will participate in scenario/role playing exercises to demonstrate de-escalation and officer safety techniques.
At the end of this training, the attendee will be able to:

- Identify and discuss Rapid Response and Deployment Department Policy
- Identify procedures for active shooter response
- Demonstrate single officer and two-officer (team) search techniques
- Demonstrate proper radio and on-scene communications with arriving officers
- Demonstrate room entry techniques
- Demonstrate during scenario/role playing exercises officer safety techniques while team searching
- Demonstrate during scenario/role playing exercises de-escalation techniques while team searching
