Target Audience: Emergency Communications Specialists (all levels of experience), Supervisors, Management/Administrative. Law, Fire, and EMS responders are welcome to attend. Responders will learn lessons that will help their applications and become better prepared for an active shooter event, and how to work collectively with communications.

In this comprehensive eight-hour course, students will learn new call taking, planning, and dispatching skills that they can use immediately. We will not only share the lessons learned, but we will also work through our instructor facilitated problem-solving techniques to better prepare any communications professional for quick action. Trainers and Supervisors will learn how to coordinate an event and what notifications and resources may be necessary during large-or small-scale events.

We will dive deep into some of the horrific Active Shooter incidents that have occurred in this country. While gun control and other political viewpoints vary, our role will be to look at each individual event as a learning opportunity to help better prepare us to handle these types of events within our own agencies. We will not be reviewing these incidents to unnecessarily critique the dispatchers or field officers involved, rather, we will be learning from them to better prepare ourselves for the unexpected.

Our course offers more than just insights- it provides actionable tools and strategies for immediate positive change. By participating, students will be equipped with the means to enhance, evolve, and elevate their centers on both the good and the bad days.
