This is a 4-hour hands-on scenario-based role-playing course. Using the MILO Shooting Simulator each member of the class will participate in a selection of scenarios emphasizing proper use of force, de-escalation techniques, high-risk traffic stops, stop-search-use of force law and officer safety techniques. In addition, cover, concealment, and time will be discussed for each scenario.
Outline:
1. Demonstrate and discuss proper level of force for each of the following levels of resistance per Federal and State Law, and department policy:
A. Cooperative person
B. Passive resister
C. Active resister
D. Aggressive assailant
E. Deadly force assailant
2. Demonstrate and discuss the proper use of force and de-escalation techniques relating to select MILO Shooting Simulator scenarios (Class/Group Discussions).
