40 Hour ILETSB SRO Preliminary Qualification Course

This preliminary training curriculum has been developed to meet the requirements of the Illinois Police Training Act - 50 ILCS 705/10.22 – School Resource Officer effective January 1, 2021. This training prepares officers for serving within a school environment by addressing Illinois Juvenile law, adolescent communication techniques and active threat response. This preliminary version is intended to remain in effect for one year from the date of ILETSB approval and shall be reviewed, revised, and subsequently re-approved. Any course or instructor approvals issued by the ILETSB based upon this version shall expire upon conclusion of this preliminary period.
