This refresher course is designed to provide the officers with updated information as well as to review the main factors of the original PREA training.
The course will review the pertinent PREA standards as well as any changes that have occurred since the original training; the training will be individualized to each facility and address specifically any issues or concerns the officers may have as they execute their duties. Gender specific issues will be addressed if any officers have been recently been working with a different gender than they usually have. Agency shall provide each employee with refresher training every two years to ensure that all employees know the agency’s current sexual abuse and sexual harassment policies and procedures. In years in which an employee does not receive refresher training, the agency shall provide refresher information on current sexual abuse and sexual harassment policies.
