All officer(s) interested in attending this course MUST go through a criminal history check and if approved by ASSIST 14 Board - they then will be allowed to attend!!
Equipment needed if approved: A cased/unloaded duty weapon, duty belt holster (inner belt and outer belt with velcro or 4 keepers), 3 magazines or 2 speed loaders for your weapon and a cleaning kit. Officer(s) will also need Department approved unloaded shotgun, 25 rounds of 7 ½ or 8 shot field loads, and 5 rounds 00 buck or 5 slugs. Officers should bring 650 rounds of handgun ammunition for use throughout this 40-hour training.
If approved each officer(s) needs to provide the SILEC office with a completed Form E card and Registration form. The Police Training and Standards Board will confirm the employment status. The first day of class officers are requested to bring a cased/unloaded duty weapon, duty belt and holster (DO NOT BRING AMMO TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS). Officers are requested to furnish their own eye and ear protection and 650 rounds of ammunition.
