This class will give minority officers an opportunity to be a bridge between the police community and community of color and impoverished neighborhoods.  Minority communities have a relationship strained by years of violence, mistrust of the police and feelings of systemic racism.

The class will examine and explore the struggles and hardships of 21st century minority police officers and officer solutions to improve their strained relationships with family members due to the current policing climate and increase their opportunities within the police department.
